I was very lucky to go and see the Burberry Prorsum A/W15 show on Monday at London Fashion week. So having the chance to go to Burberry HQ in London felt very special, especially after seeing the show and seeing the whole new autumn/winter collection up close and personal was a unique experience in itself. Come and see what goes on in Burberry HQ! At HQ of Burberry I met Christopher Bailey - the Chief Creative and Chief Executive officer of the brand. The man I adore and admire. The man who took the Burberry design, advertising and corporate art direction reins and brought the brand into a completely new level. Here's what he said about the A/W 15 collection: "It's this idea of something very classic, combined with something just a little bit more free-spirited. We wanted it to feel a little bit raw together. When you take a poncho or cape and it’s kind of... shrugged on. I wanted it to feel joyous and upbeat and I liked that thing of mixing different genres, styles and periods throughout the whole show”. “We’re all caught up in this world of so frantic and I am the first one to love it. I thrive on that energy. But sometimes you need to just put that little pause and reflect on that”. A/W 15 collection was saturated with Boho `60-70s vibes. Burberry's moto to 'protect, inspire and explore' could have been clearly identified here. A reflection on tradition was seen in applying A-line silhouettes, epaulettes, flap pockets, gun flaps and camouflage palettes to the trench coat. Burberry also looked at traditional British craft applying the technique of creating Durham quilts (layers of cotton sewn together with topstitching for a padded finish) to their trench coats. Materials which were used for the creation of this collection include lamb's wool, suede, shearling intarsia and cashmere. Burberry is not only setting the trends, but keeping them as well. For example, this season we saw lots of fringed suede and animal prints. It was seen not only in the clothes, but in accessories as well. For instance, the shoes were designed in fringed suede and animal prints were applied to the traditional Burberry Bucket Bag. Colours of the Autumn/Winter season according to Burberry are deep and rich - vinous, indigo and teal. Burberry HQ is as digitally advanced as its flagship at 121 Regents Street. There are large interactive screens everywhere, computers and iPads that you can use to order the items from the collection straight away. Now here're few of my own favourites form this collection => Shop selected ready-to-wear and accessories which can be personalised with your name or initials until Monday 9 March as part of our Runway Made to Order service.
