About London Fashion Week Organised by British Fashion Council (BFC) Britain’s most stylish fashion event takes place twice a year since 1984. This year it occurred from the 20th to 24th of February. Everyone was able to enjoy designer shopping, watch catwalk shows and receive style advice from the best in the business at the special round table discussions and style talks around the town. By the way here is a random fact of the day: The UK fashion industry is estimated to support 797,000 jobs. About Fashion Scout This season I was working Front of House at the Fashion Scout – a leading international fashion showcase that pushes emerging design talents. It already has already organized eighteen fashion week seasons in London, Paris and Kiev. Fashion Scout is responsible for the launch of a whole generation of designers including Peter Pilotto, Felder Felder, David Koma, William Tempest, Eudon Choi, Pam Hogg, Fyodor Golan, Craig Lawrence, Baartmans and Siegel, Agi & Sam and most recently Phoebe English, Xiao Li, Yifang Wan and Gyo Yuni Kimchoe. About my job Our Front of House team was assisting PR with guest seating, helped production team with event set-up, was responsible for co-ordination with the catwalk areas and packing / distribution of goodie bags. Organising 5-7 fashion shows a day, we were also able to watch and record them. We also were sometimes helping backstage and interviewing the designers prior to the show. What a fantastic opportunity seeing the creation process from the beginning till the end! And not to mention networking opportunity that allowed me to meet fantastic photographers, filmmakers, make-up artists, models and designers who may be soon contributing to BackstageTales – stay tuned! Burberry experience was one of my personal highlights of the week as words can’t describe my love for this brand and the people working for it. Taking a look at the brand from the inside made it even clearer for me that I’m madly obsessed with it. I posted about it here and here. I was also attending various bloggers events, such as Bloggers Love Fashion London Week lounge, for example. Bloggers Hub organized a Gossip Girl themed event where I got to meet other bloggers, photographers and potential sponsors. I also managed to get to Somerset House for the shows every day where we took lots of street style images with my photographers. You can find full coverage here, here and here. I couldn’t be more grateful for this unique opportunity. I’m now fully committed to this field and 100% sure of what I want to do in the future. I almost didn’t sleep, ate just tiny canapés at the parties and events, but was still able to survive with the help of fantastic creative energy that was spread all around London.
